Everybody NEEDS to read this really cute comic. It's about a sheep. :)
Scruffy the Zenit died. I took him to the repair guy over at Zeff, and he took one look at the camera and said, "This is one unhappy camera."
He flipped it over.
"'Made in the USSR'? It's communist too!"
He then went on to say that the cameras are rare now, and parts are hard to find. So I ended up getting a new camera. All manual, of course. I hate to be a technophobe, but there is no way I am letting anything computerized control my precious settings. (avoids making a big deal of the word "preciousss" - oh, damn)
Hope you had fun in New York, Nica!
I am grudgingly admitting to the cuteness of Corgis. Cats are still #1...but...but! I blame Misha.

Today was the Day of Silence. Of course, I slipped...
"Where's the pencil - ah, shit - sharpener?"
It was pretty cool. I even convinced Max to do it. (Apparently, he failed too.)
:) I spread my seeds of activism far and wide. Yes.
More people would have done it if Common Ground had gotten word about it earlier, than, say, the day before it was supposed to happen.
I have such issues with the "Holbrook Administration." That man - just - grrrrrrrrr. Mangonelli was so much better organized, better prepared, and better everything in general.
Today at lunch, Sarah and I had a tic-tac-toe marathon because we couldn't talk.
I hate when people just wear the Day of Silence badges for one class just to get out of participating. Grrrrrrr.
Yesterday, in Photo, Nick had amazing high-heeled black boots. I call them porn star boots.
I used to be a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.

RIP John Paul II. Honest person, progressive pope, good man. You didn't have to agree with him to see his profound and kind impact on the world.

Sin Bandera - Te Vi Venir |

You know those annoying ads that have you play a "game" and then a window opens with some lame scam?
I wonder how well you get paid to make those. I mean, half the time they don't know what it is they're even making.
Like this little number:

Blow "it" up. See? Even they don't know what the hell that's supposed to be.

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now |
] |
Grandma's American citizenship interview date fast approaches. She's studying so hard that there is no doubt in my mind that she will pass, so I've already started planning various festivities.
I was thinking of baking a cake with an Americana theme and inviting various naturalized Russians over, but decided that that would just be too tacky. So now, I'm thinking bright red decorations, sickle and hammer, and a large banner saying, "Congratulations for inflitrating the putrid 'democracy' of the American swine!"
And get someone to dress up as Marx. What?
We get signal. What you say?

Beatles - Revolution (thanks meme...) |
] |
So, I stole a meme from Siobhan. Sue me. I'll translate the Spanish titles because they're in Spanish and it wouldn't be funny unless you speak both.
Put your playlist on shuffle. Pick the first 15 songs that come up and add "in my pants".
1. Sin Bandera - And You Came in my pants (Please. I know. It's not my fault.) 2. Queen - Ride the Wild Wind in my pants 3. Cafe Tacuba - You are in my pants 4. Diego Torres - Dreams in my pants 5. David Bustamante - Two Men and One Destination in my pants (Please refrain.) 6. ManĂ¡ - Where Will the Children Play in my pants (guh-ross...) 7. Victor Manuel - Like a Star in my pants 8. Muse - Bliss in my pants 9. Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight in my pants 10. The Beatles - Yellow Submarine in my pants 11. Stevie Wonder - Part Time Lover in my pants 12. Robbie Williams - Feel in my pants 13. The Beatles - Love Me Do in my pants 14. The Beatles - Revolution in my pants
Today was comparatively tame. I changed my layout to be more fuzzy, like cats. Go look. You know you want to.

WHO gets a 1.5 in Disease Detectives and doesn't even place in States? WHO gets a 12.5 in Forestry and places seventh in States?
...me.
Even when the team wins, I STILL bring them down.
I fail.
Maybe I should just take up jockery.
By some miracle, I got voted for one of the Regionals officers.
Where is my cat when I need her?

Cafe Tacuba - Eres |
] |
So Dave E. sent me the Eleven Uses of the "F-word."
There are only eleven times in history where the "F" word has been considered acceptable for use. They are as follows:
11. "What the @#$% do you mean, we are sinking?" -- Capt. E.J. Smith of RMS Titanic, 1912
10. "What the @#$% was that?" -- Mayor Of Hiroshima, 1945
9. "Where did all those @#$%ing Indians come from?" -- Custer, 1877
8. "Any @#$%ing idiot could understand that." -- Einstein, 1938
7. "It does so @#$%ing look like her!" -- Picasso, 1926
6. "How the @#$%did you work that out?" -- Pythagoras, 126 BC
5. "You want WHATon the @#$%ing ceiling?" -- Michelangelo, 1566 **(My favorite)
4. "Where the @#$% are we?" -- Amelia Earhart, 1937
3. "Scattered @#$%ing showers, my ass!" -- Noah, 4314 BC **(This one's great too)
2. "Aw c'mon. Who the @#$% is going to find out?" -- Bill Clinton, 1998
and a drum roll please............!
1."Geez, I didn't think they'd get this @%#*^ing mad." -- Saddam Hussein, 2003
Heheh.

And, representing Massachusetts in the 2005 Science Olympiad in Urbana, Illionis*...
Representing Massachusetts.
Representing Massachusetts.
Representing Massachusetts.
It can't be. Not enough first places. There's a good chance we didn't even place. But all the other competetive schools have been called. That means...

...ACTON-BOXBOROUGH-REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL! (That's right, foo, the WEASEL OWNS YOU)
Urbana, Illionis, here we come!
(Things I need to do: Study a honkin' list of trees and diseases. Oy vey, but in a GOOD way!)

Late, innit? Science Team owns my soul.
My events are Forestry and Disease Detectives. The topic is asthma. Joy!
Haoshu was supposed to be my partner, but she got sick. She came in late anyway and stayed after school and we gave her a ride and everything. She felt bad about not being able to come, but she shouldn't have, because she really can't help it and it was wondrous of her to come in and bring the stuff and try. Therefore, by transitive property of social awkwardness, I feel bad too.
Thing I Have To Do: -Research some plant history (edit @ 3:07 : CHECK) -Learn to do the disease detectives calculation -Do the practice exercises and time myself -Research asthma
